Here it is folks, the ULTIMATE Official LOST Podcast.  The LAST.  Ever.  Probably.  Not yet on iTunes. Damon and Carlton address the reaction to Across The Sea, and pre-hash the upcoming episode of LOST.

This is especially interesting in how they directly discuss the fan reaction and their reaction to the reaction.  Needless to say, there is a lot of over-reaction in the LOST world right now.  But for those of you still asking “What the F*ck were they thinking?”, here you have it.

Thanks dude, considering it’s the last one 🙁

  • Will

Jeez, what a spoiler at the end! This should of been marked as SPOILERS.

    • Is there actually a spoiler?

      • elginmiller

Not that I heard. Well, there is a Fight Club spoiler.

    • Esteban

It’s whether a spoiler or a foiler. Guess we’ll have to see to find out.

      • Esteban

        I meant “either”, sorry

  • dd

Any idea when this will be on itunes?

    • dharmacide

I really would like to know the same. :/

  • Fustrate

That twist ending was absolutely the best moment ever. I’m wondering, now, did they hire an actor to do appearances? And how does he speak over the other voice?

    • Orson

      *cough* David Cross *cough*

  • elginmiller

Listening to Carlton lose it over that “Locke’s brother” question never get old. Oh man, I’m gonna miss everything about this show.

    • spacebender

      That was absolutely priceless!

  • If they make it all a dream of someone, like they’ve hinted. I will not be pleased!
That would be such an overused, under creative, plot exchange. I hope not!

    • lostfanboy16

They have said countless times that the show would not be someone’s dream

  • Rams

Awww…. last Official Lost Podcast ever… that was sad…

  • naultz

The island is a huge TURTLE. loved the bit at the end

  • lostfanboy16

Im glad that they did a commentary for Across the sea for the DVD.

I really don’t see how they can equate the creation of the universe and all the mysteries surrounding it, with the story they’ve created. Just to clarify, this a show on ABC, nothing near the unknown nature and mysteries that the creation of the life itself has.

This is a story with a beginning and an end. Something that any writer has been able to create and end with success. Something that any writer that has introduced concepts or mysteries, has had the ability to explain in the end. J.K. Rowling didn’t hide behind the concept that her story had gotten too big, or that people had looked too deep into her story. The only complaint Harry Potter fans have at the end of seven novels is why did Crookshanks help Sirius Black? She really knew how to create and then finish a story with many, many threads.

Mad respect for Cuse and Lindelof, but c’mon, hiding behind the logic of the big bang theory and the creation of life is either an attempt at humor or just hubris and/or lack of story telling ability on their part. Lame.

    • Ed-Mars

Actually, at the time of viewing the episode, I equated the creation of Smokey to the big bang. Not to say they are the same thing or even similar but in mind, I was thinking : “how do those 2 events relate?”. Darlton’s point being, they show you the light and of course you want to know what is. Once you know what it is, you want to know it formed. How it got there. Similarly, they showed us that “Mother” was protecting the island, you could ask : “well, who was there before her?”. And before you know it, you have to go so far back in the history of the island itself, maybe even to the moment it was created, to answer such questions.

      • Rams

I inferred from the episode that the Island has existed since earth came into being, and ever since the first human stepped on the shores of the Island, there has been an Island Guardian and also perhaps, Smokey.

        • Ed-Mars

Well, that’s the easy explanation. There is a whole lot of scientific mumbo-jumbo behind how islands and continents formed. The island is probably a lot younger than the earth itself. But that’s exactly what Darlton want to avoid. They showed us what’s relevant to the story of our main characters. Everything else we got in this episode was a bonus.

    • Silas

They were using the Big Bang theory to explain why answering questions can go on forever, not to explain the show itself.

      • Aldo lover

Thank you Silas. I thought this was pretty straight forward but not everyone got what they were saying.

  • Sarah

eek – they identified my exact reaction @ 7min!!

Really fun though. I’ll let them off 😉

  • Barnes (#17)

Sad to see it all coming to an end. Thanks for such a great experience…

Nobody really, really loved “Across the Sea”. They’ve left themselves too much to answer after that bullsh*t. Totally killed Jacob as a character…

    • ninjaraiden2k

But I loved it…. Guess that makes me nobody…….sniff

      • minnie swirl

        I’m nobody too!

  • Nobody

Really, Really loved “Across the Sea.”
