Warning – The Finale WILL be Spoiled

Just to warn the obvious, the ending of LOST – final scene and all – WILL be spoiled in the 11th hour.  I recommend you do not read comments, ignore your twitter feeds, facebooks, and all social media if you don’t want to be spoiled.  To give you an example of the extent to which people will go to ruin your fun, watch this video (MAJOR Harry Potter spoilers in the video.  Beware!)

I love that video. I remember watching a long time ago.

Though more importantly as for Lost, I’d urge people not to read them, though there are many avid spoiler fans. I’d definitely not read them and will stay away from all boards etc. Would never want to be spoiled for the series finale.

    • i spent days away of internet while i was reading the LAST hp book i’ll be away of twitter, fb and forums until the show will start but darlton didn’t deserve it 🙁

      • ShirtlessLocke

I don’t read the Harry Potter books, but I imagine it being beavily spoiled online, and I guess that would cause many readers to be angry, unfortunately.

For Lost, the writers want us to watch unspoiled, and I respect that. I never read major spoilers (not even for s3 finale) and won’t start now. It’s a shame they are being released. But oh well, we can avoid internet for a few extra hours.

I was spoiled on the deaths for HP Deathly Hallows from a site called ytmnd.com . I only glanced over the one-line title of a submission on the homepage for an indirect split second, and caught 5 of the names. Realized what it might’ve been, and brushed it off ’cause I thought most of the names I remembered were so absurd. Then as I read the book, I saw the first name, and the rest fell like dominoes. Still enjoyed the book very much, but I was pretty pissed.

So, although I enjoy the potential of what you can do at the site (user-submitted pages of repetitive mp3s playing over an animated gif background with cheesy 3d text over it), I haven’t once visited the site since falling in love with LOST last season (better late then never, right?).

As for Internet/FB/twitter lockdown, as a West Coast viewer, it’s nothing I’m not used to already, heh.

          • my friend was spoiled on a forum about Dumbledore death for HP HBP, i never was spoiled for HP and i was spoiler whore for all the seasons thought if i didn’t want to know i didn’t read it (like for locke in the coffin and some others things) BUT i knew it was LAST scene ever so it was for me like reading last HP book again that’s why since 209 days i’m unspoiled but yes it’s really a shame for Darlton’s work 🙁

  • Damon and Carlton didn’t deserve it !
shame ! people in this worlf have really NO SHAME

    • world* sorry i expected it to happen but i didn’t wish it 🙁

I look at it as an issue of personal choice. A person has a choice whether or not to view spoilers. Avoiding spoilers is also quite easy to do-don’t go on the internet. Specifically, don’t view websites that feature spoilers and even more specifically to the section of a spoiler website entitled spoilers. Finale spoilers won’t affect me or anybody else one bit if they don’t read them.

      • Wanda

Those of us who live west of the East Coast have to contend with spoilers even on sites that claim not allow them.

So add to that list newspaper websites that think it’s okay to post headlines as soon as the East Coast finishes. And relatives who don’t understand where California or Hawaii is.

        • Mack

Don’t expose yourself to anything. Stay off the internet for one. Watch the last few episodes preceding the finale or a movie to occupy your time before the show airs. Let your relatives know in advance that you don’t want to be spoiled. Following these simple suggestion and there is no reason why your experience would be spoiled..

  • My internet blackout starts at 3 PM today when I get off work.

  • s.w.a.c.

It turns out Jacob just wishes he still had the sled that his mother made for him when he was a child, and his final words “Rosebud” will be misinterpreted as “Rose and Bernard”, who are mistakenly made the island’s guardians by proxy.

  • Boy is that little d**che lucky he wasn’t in the store with me. Can you say ‘hospitalized’?

To be sure, I will be offline all day tomorrow and spending it with my daughter where we will end it with popcorn, jello and the finale.

  • katherine

I dont understand how can any real Lost fan spoil others about the series finale. That’s just so unfair. Which leads me to another question- how/where do ppl get info on what the last scene of the series finale will look like if it hasn’t aired yet????

    • honey, it’s people from post production and others people on the staff who do that, there is no HOW or WHERE but i could say WHY

      • katherine

I wonder if these ppl (post production and staff, etc) are not held accountable to the Lost producers…like dont they sign a “silence contract” or something? I just think it is so unfair to the whole show and disrespetful to the fans and the producers.

        • i guess they’ve like when i worked in an hospital and heard about people having surgery even if i knew friend or their family i couldn’t say it myself so i guess it’s the same but don’t mean they can’t ‘break” the rules

    • katie

people who do that are not fans in any way. in the HP video, those jerks mispronounced Dobby, Severus and Voldemort, of all people. what idiots.

  • thelighthappenedgetoverit

I am going to have the hardest 3 days of my life ahead of me. Living in England, waiting for the last episode. I can’t watch at 5am on monday sadly 🙁

    • Josh

Only thing I can recommend is watch it on Ninjavideo.net, they tend to have it up by 7am with a noraml episode but with the length of this it probs won’t be up still 9 ish.

    • neither am i able to watch it at 5am, but just use http://www.warez-bb.org/search.php

it will be on there by about 9-10am it’s what i’ve always used. send me a message if you are unsure how to use it!

  • Chad Geri

Those guys in that video just make themselves look like idiots. What’s the point of spoiling someone else’s fun like that? It’s not funny at all, just pointlessly mean and spiteful.

  • Josh

The video above proves why people are evil. They come. They fight. They destroy. They corrupt. It always ends the same.

  • katie

Boy the HP thing was awful. People can truly be awfully ugly – they must have sad, sad lives. And they obviously were not HP fans as they mispronounced Dobby, Voldemort and Severus….and I am sure there will be those who are just itching to spoil the Lost finale too (it always ends the same).

  • Chumby

The kids who did that video should get their asses beaten till they are broken and bloody.

  • Whats funny is that the banks themselves never went to credit counseling, nope instead they got a bailout. How the hell does the bank get a bailout anyway? Companies file bankrupt for a reason people. These credit counseling companies work with the banks and are profiting off your debt. Why do you think they are so cheap and yet are in business? Heres how it works… Let’s say your 50 grand in the hole. You go to a credit counselor, they work with the bank and get it reduced to 20 grand and tell you it’s reduced to 30 and the bank gives them to extra 10. On top of that once you’re done you’re credit is destroyed. The banks are scared of you filing bankrupt, if they get half of what you owe them it’s more than they will get if you file bankrupt. I don’t think you should borrow money with no intention on paying it back, im just saying these companies are not there to help you.

  • Fantastic coverage of a (relatively) uninteresting subject for me. Maintain up the fine work!

  • The title Voldemort is derived from the French words which also means “fly from death,”
